Richard and Susan Parkinson Porcelain Knitting Lady
A comical figure of a seated lady knitting, in glazed slip-cast bisque porcelain with painted and incised decoration using a wax-resist technique. This is a rare example of this figure produced and designed by Susan Parkinson, model 110, for the Parkinson Pottery at Brabourne Lees, Ashford, Kent early 1950’s.
A delightful abstract rendering in glazed stoneware of a small bird. This is typical in style from Rosemary Wren who is known for her sculptures of birds and animals and dates from her period at the Oxshott Pottery. Her mother was Denise Wren who studied under Archibald Knox at Kingston School of Art (1907-1912). Marked: Impressed mark to underside for Rosemary Wren at Oxshott Pottery. Circa 1960s.
